Day 07- A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

Of course the people that had the biggest impact is my family. Each and every one of them has had a huge impact on my life and the way I am living now.

My mother is the most caring, sincere person I know. She is so generous in every way and always looking out for my well being. Whenever she packs me food, she packs me a lot so that I can share with my friends and have taught me to be giving. I probably gave her the hardest time during my high school years and I’m so grateful that she just bore with me during those times I gave her stress and grief. She is the perfect mother and wife in my eyes. Always ready to cook up anything I want or clean up after my mess. Out of everything she’s done, the biggest impact was that she has truly shown and taught me care, sincerity, generosity, and love.

My sister is the definition of a perfect person. She has achieved and excelled in everything she put her mind to; whether it is being the valedictorian of high school, getting eight “5”s on her AP tests in high school, being active in clubs, graduating UCLA has a Regent Scholar as a Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics major. She’s now studying at UCSF, the second best medical school and i’m sure she’s excelling. Not just that, but she knows how to party and has a boyfriend of 6 years. Thats crazzyyyy. Her time management is flawless but before that, she always took care of me, ever since we were little. She would get me the best presents for my birthday but for hers, I would get her very little. But she always gave to me not expecting anything in return. (Sorry nuna). She protected me and guided me through classes and life. If it wasn’t for her, I would not be where I am today in life.

My dad is the hardest working person I know. I highly respect my dad and he is my inspiration. As a kid, you are asked “who is your hero?” and i always responded with “my dad” but i never really understood that question until i matured and grew up. Now, I can honestly say that he is someone i strive to become. For him to grow up as the youngest of 6 brothers and 1 sister, and his dad passing away when he was only 12, i can only imagine how tough life must have been. However, he is the definition of the American Dream. He’s worked hard through every situation and nothing was ever handed to him. Now as a successful business man, I look up to him and only hope I can achieve half as much as he did.

Day 06- Favorite super hero and why

It would have to be Ironman for sure. I love technology so it comes natural that Ironman would be my number one choice. Also, i love the character of Tony Stark, the cocky, arrogant bastard that knows how to get what he wants. He’s like a upgraded version of Batman. He’s filthy rich, and has better gear than Batman. Can’t go wrong with the Ironman suit.

Day 05- A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

I will reblog my good friend Monica Lee’s post because it describes how i feel. This is Monica Lee’s writing.

Maybe because it’s winter break and I just lie in a vegetative state in my bed all day, but lately my mind has been wandering to Korea more often. I think about Korea every single day on a normal basis, but for the past two weeks I’ve been getting intense bouts of nostalgia. It’s pathetic to the point where my dad bought a new TV and I almost cried when I turned it on because the startup noise was the same as the one I had in Korea. When you want to touch something, feel something, hear something but you can’t… it just drives you crazy. It takes a visit to Seoul to know that all of the cheesy-ass tourism advertisements that Korea puts out are true. I miss its heartbeat, the throb of the city packed with people rushing to their destinations. Vendors on the side of the street, the smell of ddukbokki and odaeng in the air, summer heat. Bright, shiny lights and the same songs playing from every store. The accessibility of anything, the ability to do everything—all your destinations are a bus/subway/taxi ride away.

If I close my eyes, I can see the exact way I would get from my apartment to 신촌… Walk out of DMC, cross the street to take the bus, swipe my T-Money card, look out the window and see 월드컵 경기장, the restaurant with the giant crab in front, Kyochon Chicken, the PC 방 on the corner, 내려 at Yonsei, cross the street with the impossible signal, walk down the paved pathway, turn right into the tunnel with the evangelist 아즘마, pass the small vendor with the waffles out front, pass the 약국, Pascucci, Beans and Berries, Natuur, the contact place, the shoe repair booth, Artbox, Nolbu, Red Mango, Adidas, at the intersection with Nature Republic, the 냉면집, Etude House… If I close my eyes I can walk there again.

DAY 4 - A HABIT I WISH I DIDN’T HAVE

This one is easy. It would definitely be that I wish i wasn’t so curious all the time. If someone proposed a question that I did not know the answer to, I would always have to immediately Google or Wiki the answer. Until i find out the answer, it bugs me and it just stays in the back of my mind like an itch you can’t scratch. Curiosity is one of my strong traits but sometimes, I overdo it.

DAY 3 - PHOTO OF YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS
